Chapel Winchester Cathedral, by Rachel Hunt

Since the Autumn, we have had two exhibitions: " The Art of Reflection" at Fisherton Mill in Salisbury, during October and November and "2d3d Reappearance" at the Visitors Gallery at The Sir Harold Hillier Gardens in Ampfield near Romsey. The latter followed our successful show there in 2016. Despite inclement weather, this exhibition was also a success, attracting over 4,000 visitors.

Currently, some of the members of the group are showing work independently. Jill Jennings and Angela Perrett have work in the St. Barbe Open exhibition in Lymington. Angela Perrett , Don Richards and Sue Halloway have work at the Southampton City Art Gallery Open Exhibition, " The Four Seasons". Angela Perrett also has work at The Saltmarsh Gallery, Lymington. Sue Halloway has a small show at the Collection Discovery Centre at Fishbourne Roman Palace , Chichester.

Forthcoming exhibitions include the annual show at The Link Gallery, Winchester University, Romsey Road, Winchester, which runs from August 1st to September 9th and coincides with Hampshire Open Studios week.

In the Winter we will be showing at the Willis Museum, Basingstoke from November 3rd to December 8th.

Our most recent speaker was the digital illustrator, Steinar Lund. The speakers in following meetings will be Wendy Bramhall, wildlife illustrator and Holly Hickmore, sculptor.

At present there are 28 members in the group. Members come mainly from Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire and Sussex. They work in a range of disciplines within the visual arts.

The group is run by its members who share responsibilities in organising and hanging exhibitions, suggesting and finding speakers, organising practical workshops and administrative tasks.

A formal meeting is held three times a year at Shawford Hall to hear from a speaker and to discuss group business. All meetings are concluded with a lunch.

Workshops are held three or four times a year.

Artists belonging to the group are able to meet those with similar interests. Those applying to join 2d3d must have qualified to Art Diploma or degree level and have experience of exhibiting their work. The workshop shows the breadth of work of the individual members.

The overriding spirit of the group is to produce work of a high standard and to mutually support and encourage one another.
